DAY BEFORE INDEPENDENCE     

The air is sweet, the breeze is shooing,

Away all care and the sun is wooing,

Us outside, coz the exams have nearly ended,

The last paper is tomorrow but revision is unattended.

I prepare to leave for home,

The wait has been very long,

The hope for return had been narrow,

I can hardly wait for the morrow!

Nobody seems to care for next day,

Exam may go to hell as my feelings sway,

For I glimpse of home, with its cozy shadows,

Lying on the hilltop ‘round the meadows.

Everyone seems to be in merry,

Nobody seems to wait for the river ferry,

Some swim and some seem to find a boat,

They just want to cross the gloomy moat.

The luggage has been stowed, packing’s done,

I can’t wait for the afternoon, to get on the run.

Feelings seem to flood my mind,

Untold desires seem to unwind.

Wearisome has been this month of last,

I want to be back with a blast,

I will miss my deary roommates,

The one whom I regularly checkmate!!!

The date is 22^nd Jan, 2010!!! The day before the last exam of my first semester in CVRCE. It had nearly been a month since I visited home!!!!!So I was naturally very excited about my homecoming, coz the very next day I was about to catch a train
